Getting Hands-On with Our APT DC Chapter Friends

We hosted a Hands-On Happy-Hour event for APT's DC Chapter on October 20th. One of the truly great things about our headquarter offices is our entertaining and training spaces. It's the perfect complement of getting hands-on with our various restoration and maintenance products and then relaxing with friends over a glass of wine or a beer and some nice sandwiches and snacks from Tastings Gourmet Market.

The APT group was with us for about 4 hours, enough time to tour our manufacturing facility and our color and R&D labs before moving into the hands-on training area, where we walked everyone through installing a Jahn Mortar patch, showed the proper technique for single-lift pointing, pulled off some Latex Cleaner, and worked with our Paint Remover and Bio Cleaner.

While the Hands-On and Happy-Hour are clearly the "fun" of the evening, the R&D Lab is always the favorite--especially if you're lucky enough to be here when our stonecutter and founder, Dennis Rude, is leading the tour. The R&D Lab is simply where you get a real sense of Dennis's reason and vision for every product Cathedral Stone develops. He'll regale about the first time he installed a Jahn patch--knowing immediately that it was a game changer--and how Jahn's strength is its substrate-specific compatibility and its ability to allow salt and moisture to pass through with no affect on its bond. The ongoing tests and experiments going on in the lab are always sure to grab everyones attention.

These are great events and we love hosting them. If you're in the Washington DC/Baltimore Metro area and you would like to bring a group in for a Hands-On Happy-Hour, let me know (message me on Linked-In is best to get us connected). If you're not in the area, we may be able to accommodate you with an on-site lunch-and-learn event--likewise, messaging me on Linked-In is the best way to get us connected.

A huge thanks to everyone at APT--especially the DC Chapter--for making this a great event for everyone. We had fun hosting and we're looking forward to the next one!
